Pledge Drive Goal
There is so much good news at the UU Church of Bloomington!
- Attendance is up 62% on Sundays
- We’ve had 54 new members join in the last year
- RE enrollment has more than tripled since last year, with 84 children and youth enrolled
To meet the needs of a growing UUCB
Our Pledge Goal is $755,000
This is a 16% increase over the amount pledged last year.
Why the 16% Increase?
Fairer compensation and benefits to staff:
- Minimum 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for staff, plus stronger raises for staff whose compensation is well below UUA guidelines
- Provide health benefits to staff working more than 28 hours per week
Provides necessary increases for our growing programs:
- Increases Communications Coordinator/Office Assistant Jo Bowman to full time; this will provide critical support to Minister, staff, and congregation as we grow
- Covers basic increased costs for move to two services
- Provides increased resources needed to accommodate growth in Religious Education, worship, hospitality and technology upgrades
Strengthens our commitment to our wider UUA community and to UUCB’s future:
- Raises contribution to the UUA to full Honor Level Giving
- Eliminates draw on reserve funds
This goal does not provide for any additional ministry or program staff support for our growing ministry.
Our Aspirational Goal is $780,000
If we raised this amount, we would be able to provide some additional staffing support—either mid-year or for a temporary contract. Rev. Susan is clear that she doesn’t wish to rush into hiring a second minister, as we need more time to build a shared vision for our ministry which should inform additional staffing.
Our Fiscal Year 2025 - 2026 budget will be set based on the results of this pledge drive. We can learn about the church finances by looking at the budget for the current fiscal year, FY 2024 - 2025.
Income
Your pledge matters! Nearly 84% of our ministry is funded through the pledges of all of us, the members and friends of UUCB. YOU help make this wonderful place possible!
Expenses
The budget funds our vision of Seeking the Spirit, Building Community, and Changing the World.
How Much To Pledge
How much should I give? That’s up to YOU!
We ask members and friends to give as generously as they can based on their financial circumstances and commitment to UUCB. For those who would like some guidance, below is more information that can be helpful in considering what to give.
