Pledge Drive Committee Charge
The Pledge Drive Committee works under the authority of the Board to plan and implement each year’s Pledge Drive campaign. The committee has six members who serve for three-year staggered terms. The Committee chooses a chair or co-chairs each year and notifies the Board of the choice. Members are recruited by an open invitation each spring and are approved by the Board in consultation with the current committee members. Whenever possible, the members are announced at each spring congregational meeting.
The Pledge Drive Committee is charged with:
- Planning the annual Pledge Drive, including:
- Developing ongoing strategies for the Pledge Drive, including the possibility of default renewal of pledges
- Working with the Treasurer and Lead Minister to identify a pledge drive goal, in consultation with the Finance Committee
- Developing and implementing a schedule of communications to the Congregation
- Preparing written or electronic materials regarding the Pledge Drive
- Planning any special Pledge Drive events
- Developing and implementing a process for collecting and recording pledges, in consultation with the Controller and Director of Administration
- Coordinating canvassing of members who have not yet made a pledge for the upcoming campaign
- Coordinating process for personal thank you notes for pledgers
- Providing regular reports to the Lead Minister and Board on the progress of the annual Pledge Drive
- Building a culture of generosity in the Congregation
- Providing a brief stewardship and pledging overview for new members as part of the Exploring UU course.
