CHALICE LIGHTING
A child from the congregation lights a ceramic chalice whose flame symbolizes for us the light of truth, the warmth of community, the fire of commitment, and the spark of the divine which calls us to care for the earth.
CHILDREN'S MOMENT
The children gather at the front of the meeting room to hear a brief story, drama, or song before departing with their religious education teachers to their classes.
SOCIAL JUSTICE MOMENT
A member of a congregational task force speaks briefly on a social justice topic, such as ecology, economic justice, or civil marriage rights.
OFFERTORY
Twenty-five percent of non-pledge contributions are given to a local social justice agency selected annually by the congregation. During the offertory, congregants may light a candle to indicate a joy or sorrow in their lives.
MEDITATION and COMMON PRAYER
