Habitat for Humanity Task Force
Lack of decent, affordable housing is a problem for many people in Monroe County. The Habitat for Humanity Task Force's goal is to support Habitat for Humanity's efforts to provide decent, affordable housing locally and globally by
- educating the congregation
- expanding UU volunteerism
- supporting Habitat financially
The Habitat Task Force offers ongoing volunteer opportunities to participate in building or furnishing food for work sites. Each spring the task force with congregational support of willing hands and donations from many participate in the annual Women's Build.
This year the task force will explore opportunities for the church to co-sponsor a house. Other activities will include Friends of Habitat Church Potluck, Family Activity as lunch providers for construction site, Social Justice Bulletin Board articles and photographs, Social Justice Moments, Forums, construction volunteers and food providers, More Than Houses Breakfast donors and participation in Women's Build.
