Green Sanctuary Task Force on Global Climate Change
The goals of the Green Sanctuary Task Force are to explore ways of reducing the ecological footprint of the UU Church of Bloomington, its members and the broader community and to fulfill our commitment as a certified Green Sanctuary. Being a Green Sanctuary affirms and promotes the seventh principle of Unitarian Universalism: "Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." To that end, we are working:
- To build awareness of societal environmental issues among UU's.
- To generate commitment for personal lifestyle changes.
- To motivate UU's to community action on environmental issues.
- To build a connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness.
- To build awareness of and recitify environmental injustices.
