The Heartland String Band, a part of our music program, was founded by Carol Marks in August of 2001, but because of Covid they have not been able to play together in a while. Sally McGuire has graciously agreed to revive this merry band. The band will practice from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in Fellowship Hall (latecomers welcome). They play old-time and Celtic music as well as folks songs, and all lovers of this music are welcome. Dulcimers, fiddles, cellos, pennywhistles, guitars, banjos, mandolins, even accordions!

The primary purpose of the Mud and Lotus Collective is to offer a Buddhist-inspired path to recovery from addiction of all kinds. We gather together every week to do meditation, read from Buddhist recovery books, and have a discussion. Currently meeting at the UU Church of Bloomington on Thursdays at 6:30 pm. Open to all.

Choir schedule (starting August 8):

Thursday evenings: 7:00-8:30. Childcare available upon request.

Sunday mornings: 8:45 rehearsal for 9:30 service, 10:45 rehearsal for 11:30 service. Childcare always available.

Choir exercises body, mind, and spirit. Enhances your vocal fluency and keeps your voice young and flexible. Engages deep listening. Improves posture and lung capacity. Calms and focuses the mind (you won't have time for any other worries during rehearsal). Gives you the best seat in the house for the children's moment. And occasionally puts you smack in the middle of a masterpiece!

Women Taking the Steps meets every Friday in our Library. It is an in-person, closed discussion group for women. Closed meetings are for A.A. members only; for those who have a drinking problem and “have a desire to stop drinking.” Learn more and find other area Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at area23aa.org/meetings.

A weekly get-together for those interested in board games, card games, RPGs, and conversation!

A confidential space for the Bloomington Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender Questioning community. Share struggles, joys, questions, and knowledge. You are welcome and loved. Cookies and coffee provided, feel free to bring your own treats to share.

Join us in room 112 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bloomington every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 2pm to build comradery and chat about the warm and fuzzy things you are making. Bring a project and leave some ideas!

Beginners welcome! We will have some extra supplies for anyone who wishes to learn a new craft. UU membership is not necessary. Hot beverages and snacks are provided.
